Privacy Policy

How Mr. Legit Solar collects, uses and protects the information you give us. Last updated 1 August 2026.

Pre-launch notice: online forms on this site are not active and do not transmit or store submissions. This policy is a working draft and must be reviewed before any customer data is collected.

1. Information we collect

When you request a quote, contact us or apply for a role, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, email address, telephone number, service address, ZIP code, and details about your property and energy usage. If you authorise it, we may also obtain twelve months of consumption history from your electric utility in order to size a system accurately.

When you visit the site we automatically collect standard technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed. We use this to keep the site working and to understand which pages are useful.

2. How we use it

  • To prepare and deliver the system design or quote you requested
  • To communicate with you about your project, by email or by phone if you gave us a number
  • To schedule surveys, installations, inspections and service visits
  • To submit permit and utility interconnection applications on your behalf
  • To meet our legal, licensing, warranty and tax obligations
  • To improve our website, our designs and our service

3. Communications and consent

When you submit a form and check the consent box, you agree that we may contact you about your enquiry by email, and by telephone or SMS if you gave us a number. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or emailing us directly. We will still send transactional messages about a project in progress.

4. Sharing

We share information only where necessary to do the work or where the law requires it:

  • Financing partners you choose, to process a credit application you initiate
  • Utilities and permitting authorities, for interconnection and permit applications
  • Equipment manufacturers, to register warranties and file claims in your name
  • Service providers who host our systems or send our email, under contract
  • Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect safety

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Retention

We keep project records for the life of the system warranty plus applicable statutory periods, because a warranty claim in year twenty-two requires the records from year one. Enquiries that do not become projects are retained for 24 months and then deleted.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither), and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. California residents have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA. To make a request, email hello@mrlegitsolar.com and we will respond within the time the law allows.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the site work and, where you consent, analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential functions may stop working if you do.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and staff training to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities if a breach affecting your data occurs, as required by law.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes and contact

We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new effective date. Questions go to hello@mrlegitsolar.com or Mr. Legit Solar, Nationwide service · Local teams matched by ZIP code.
