Roofing and solar, one contract, one warranty

Shingle, tile, metal and flat-roof replacement done solar-ready by licensed roofers, so you never pay twice to put holes in the same roof.

Roofing

The most expensive solar mistake is a good array on a bad roof

A solar system lasts 25 to 30 years. An asphalt roof in the desert Southwest lasts 15 to 20. If those clocks aren't aligned when you install, you will pay a removal-and-reinstall bill somewhere around year twelve, and you'll pay it while your system sits dark.

  • Free roof condition report with every solar site survey, whether you buy roofing from us or not
  • Properly licensed roofing professionals assigned by market, not a solar salesperson with a nail gun
  • Manufacturer-approved flashing on every penetration, sealed under the course above
  • Solar-ready layout planned before tear-off, so mounts land on rafters, not guesses
  • One warranty covering roof and array together. Nobody gets to point fingers

What we install, and what it means for solar

Architectural shingle

25–30 year rated. The cheapest solar-compatible roof and by far the easiest to mount on. Class 4 impact-rated options available for hail country.

Concrete & clay tile

40+ years, standard across the Southwest. Requires tile-replacement mounts and a crew that knows how to walk it without cracking a third of it.

Standing-seam metal

40–60 years and the best solar roof there is: seam clamps mean zero penetrations, so there is nothing to leak.

Flat & low-slope

TPO, EPDM and modified bitumen for flat residential and commercial roofs. Ballasted solar racking often avoids penetrations entirely.

What happens when we do both

01

One design pass

We lay out the array first so the roofer knows where every mount lands before tear-off begins.

02

Tear-off & deck inspection

Old material off, decking checked for rot and re-nailed to code. Rotten sheathing gets replaced at a stated per-sheet price, agreed in advance.

03

New roof, mounts included

Underlayment, flashing and roofing go on with the solar mounts installed and flashed as part of the roof, not drilled into it a month later.

04

Array installed

Usually within days. No second mobilization fee, no second permit, no second set of holes.

Already have solar?

We do removal and reinstall too

If your roof has failed under an existing array, we detach it, replace the roof, and reinstall the system with new flashing and a fresh workmanship warranty, including systems we didn't install. We document every module's serial number and test production before and after, so nothing quietly comes back offline.

Roofing FAQ

Roof questions before you go solar

If the roof has fewer than seven to ten good years left, yes, and it isn't close. Removing and reinstalling an array later typically costs $3,500–$7,500 and puts new holes in a new roof. Doing both at once means one crew, one permit cycle, one mobilization and one warranty covering the whole assembly.

Asphalt shingle, concrete and clay tile, standing-seam and corrugated metal, and flat roofs with TPO, EPDM or modified bitumen membranes. Tile requires tile-replacement mounts rather than simply drilling through; standing seam usually needs no penetrations at all thanks to seam clamps. Wood shake and slate we generally decline. The risk of breakage isn't worth it to you or us.

It can, if the array is installed by someone who isn't a licensed roofer or in a way the manufacturer doesn't accept. We hold roofing licenses in every state we operate in, we use flashed mounts approved by the major shingle manufacturers, and where you have an existing manufacturer warranty we coordinate the work so it survives.

A typical 2,400 square foot shingle roof is one to two days for tear-off and re-roof. Tile runs three to five days. If we're doing solar as well, the array goes on immediately afterward, usually within the same week, using the racking layout we planned before the first shingle came off.

Both. Leak diagnosis, flashing repair, and partial re-decking are routine for us, and we do them for customers who have no interest in solar at all. If we find your roof needs a repair rather than the replacement someone else quoted, we'll say so, and put it in writing.
